    Cool Tailwind Fan is back...

In an interesting turn of events, I’m keeping my Tri-Pacer. First the FAA medical people are still investing my case, and I got the 60 day letter. Then the sale fell through. Finally, I just really enjoy flying the old bucket of bolts.

That field looked vaguely familiar. I just flew down to southern california, wondering if I stopped there.

Lol, I’m sure most desert fields with 7000 ft runways look familiar. I’m at Inyokern (KIYK) we have to suffer the indignity of closed runways so that Nissan et al can film car commercials in front of our mountain backdrop.....

    Hi again,

Just wanted to remind you of Dr. Pinnell, the miracle AME. He knows all the Oklahoma doctors that will be looking over your submissions. He does his magic through email with them and has more often than not been able to accomplish what other AMEs don't or can't get through. His offices are here in Michigan, I'd be willing to offer up anything I could help you with, including a place to stay and transportation for appointments if needed. Don't let the feds win.

    Hi Jim,

I will definitely give him a call. If nothing else, he might be able to advise me as others have done. Ironically enough, the day after I visited my NP and booked a follow-on appointment for December, is when the letter arrived asking about the medications She prescribes for me. I’m sure that it cannot hurt to have someone intercede on my behalf with the Federal medical people. I’ll pm you with some questions, if you’re open to it?

I’ve been doing some updating of the interior of the old lady. I had new door panels to instal and am laying a grey carpet along with a new control column boot on the floor. I am planning on finishing this out over the weekend. It’ll add to the interior and help make it pleasant to sit in during the longer flights.
