I flew my Clipper for several months wit the nose tank and no right wing tank after installing the O-320. No problem. It was still within the the W&B.I removed the nose tank when I put in the right wing tank.
Installing the wing tank and removing the nose tank later only moved W&B a few 10’s of an inch.
Mine was done on field approval as no STC was then available.

I am not sure about how the spars are modified for the Madras tips, if they are cut short or ???
Just curious at this time.
Thanks,

Glen,
Only because I am familiar with both.. Madras cuts off the spar end caps that are normally bent down to the wing tip bow.. Stewarts has you cut those off then add a section of spar that is cut at an angle for a new bow to attach too.. I think it would not be a problem to modify what you have to the Stewart configuration.
Brian.

Steve is correct. My Pacer had Madras tips. Doug and Dan both told me that I could easily switch to the Steward tips. Which they said were superior.

Re: Stewarts Hangar 21 Sold
Thank you Stephen and Brian, that is good to know.
After I win the Lottery on Friday I will start planning the work for 14P and then the fun begins.
I'll probably buy my wife a new hat or something too. Gotta spread that good fortune around.

David, There are three options:
Install an O-320 engine, prop and modified fuel system per drawing.
Install a modified fuel system.
Install an O-290 engine, prop and modified fuel system per drawing.
The fuel system drawing is the PA22 fuel system, no header tank.

Does it limit the O-320 to an "A" series 150 HP, or could it allow a "B" series 160 HP like your dad has?

Re: Stewarts Hangar 21 Sold
It calls out the "A". You can use the 10% horsepower increase clause in the field approval flow chart.

Re: Stewarts Hangar 21 Sold
Steve, in DAR school, they tell us that 10% is based off the original TC and we can’t give Field Approvals for 10% above an STC. I’m sure some people have gotten it that way, bu that isn’t the current policy.
Does the Flight Manual Supplement take away Utility Category? I haven’t seen anything one way or another on that.
Did you ever get the gear drawing scanned for me?
Happy New Year!

Re: Stewarts Hangar 21 Sold
Just gives airspeed limits in normal category only.
Maneuvering 105 mph
Maximum Structural Cruising 117 mph
Never exceed 140 mph.
Only change is it doesn't list utility maneuvering speed of 108 mph like the TCDS.
Haven't been anywhere to get drawing copied.
