Bumper pads for Clipper Gear

What's a good material to use to make new landing gear bumper pads that are attached on the frame? It's For a Clipper. Thanks

I use a rubber belting material like used on muffler hangers.

I think the sidewall of an old car or truck tire would work well.

Or an 18 wheeler mud flap. I use those under the tail spring at the rudder post as well.
