Reno area rudder group buy

Hey all,

I contacted Alaska Gear Company (Airframes Alaska) asking about getting a replacement rudder and got some info. They said that they can ship up to 4 rudders in the crate at a time for the same shipping cost so I figured I'd ask around and see if anyone wanted to work a group buy to save on shipping. The cost breakdown is $800 for the rudder and $580 for crating and shipping. If I can find 3 other people, it works out to $945 a rudder all included which is the cost of just a rudder from Univair before crating and shipping. As of late last week, their lead time is about 8 weeks so I'd expect a late spring/early summer arrival.

If anyone in the greater area is interested, let me know! If you live a couple hour flight away, I'm willing to meet at a mid point (I think a bare rudder would fit in the back seat, anyone tried yet?).

Best Regards,
Jared

Where exactly is the “greater area” ? City? State? Country?
Like the post says, I'd be willing to fly a 1.5 or so to meet at a midpoint so draw a 3 hour circle around KFLX planning for 110mph and that's what I'd consider greater
Did you see my post on the facebook group?
Code, I got a handful of responses to my post in SWP and SWPC FB groups. I plan on creating a group message tomorrow night and see who's ready to move forward.
