Hi Short Wingers,
I'm looking for a PA-22 Hydrasorb shock part or equivalent; currently listed as Univair part #U487-558-1.
The original Piper part on P. 149 of the PA-22 parts manual is Shock Strut no. 18233-00.
Mine is leaking and any help would be appreciated since the shock units are common to several models.
If someone has a serviceable unit, is in the middle of a rebuild and can spare one for a few weeks, I'll be glad to replace it when they become available elsewhere.
Thanks, David

I have one that is serviceable. I bought it to rob the upper bungee mount. You pay shipping.

Hi Todd, you'd be a lifesaver! I can call you to discuss shipping and to organize a replacement. My phone is 4047883757 in Maryland.

Just a quick shoutout to Todd Dailing and the Short Wing Piper Club for help getting my Tri-Pacer Hydrasorb shock unit back in action.
For other members, be advised that Univair currently has an 8-week backorder delay manufacturing and stocking Hydrasorb shocks for our aircraft.
And the support from this community is just great!

Congratulations Dave on making the cover page of AOPA Pilot Aug Issue!
Very nice looking TriPacer.
Lots of attention to detail went into the restoration like painting the N number on the wings!
Sounds like she preforms well too.

Hi Brian, thank you very much. It’s a great looking and great flying Tri-Pacer. I figure I’m
just the caretaker and enjoy helping to keep history alive. Hope our paths cross in person soon. DT
