Steve's aircraft STCs

Today I got my order from Steve's aircraft. Super fast shipping! Excellent guy to talk to on the phone, and he saved me some added expense by telling me I only needed one gascolator if I was doing the Trimmer Maule fuel selector.

His gascolator is 100% top notch! Wow! I also got the rudder trim, skylight, and vented brake booster. All look just as good as the gascolator.

The only thing I had a question about was one of the materials called for in the skylight. 3" strap metal of .025 4130. Is there an easy way to get that in 3" strips? Aircraft spruce only sells sheets in that thickness.

If anyone is debating these STCs, all I can say is to get them! I'm happy with my purchase.

Tim - I had the same experience with the skylight STC - top notch drawings and a really good bloke to deal with. :new_smileyb:

I have had really good service from the smaller USA companies but sadly, some of the big ones leave a lot to be desired, ESPECIALLY if your address is not one of the 49 states.

Tim...

Thanks for the compliments, we try our best to keep you guys happy.....As for the strip, you can use either 4130 or mild steel of the appropriate grade....Check with your local steel recyclers or supplier in your area. They may have what you need.

As a side note, we have been thinking about putting together a materials kit with all hardware and materials cut except for the glass. All the installer would have to do is trim, drill and get the glass from a local supplier. Nice thing about it is according to my FAA guy, I wont have to PMA a kit due to the hardware being "shelf" items.....:-)

I agree on the quality of parts and service, Great!
I think the skylight material kit is a good idea, if I didn't
have access to those tools it might have made me think twice.
Looking forward to the control stick STC, Brian.

For me installing these STC's, it saves me time (and cost to the customer) if I can order a kit, at least for the odd items to find.
