Wagabond build

I started off by cleaning the windshield strips and the left and right boot. I epoxy primed these and while they were drying I installed the tailwheel and tailwheel leaf springs. The inside windshield strip I painted black and the outside windshield strip along with the boot cowls I painted Daytona White. I let these dry for a few days and installed the control yokes, bottom inspection panel, and scuffed up the door trim strips and rear fuselage panel where the blue strip will go. I taped off the boot cowls and door trim strips and painted them True Blue enamel. Finally after a few days I taped off the boot cowls at the windshield strip and painted the inside portion black. Finally after letting dry for a few days I installed both boot cowls onto the fuselage.

What fasteners did you use for the windshield retention strips? My bird did not come with boot cowls, and I need to add those in the next month.

Looking amazing as always!

For the windshield strips that connect to the boot cowl I am going to 6-32 stainless steel machine screws and washers and nylon lock nuts. It will be a two person job. One under instrument panel with socket and one outside with screw driver. You could use blind nuts but that’s a lot of riveting to attach to inside of cowl.
