WI CFI For Insurance

Looking for a CFI near Madison WI to get some transition training in a Clipper. My insurance company is requiring the CFI to have at least 25hrs in M&M. I've contracted the two tailwheel schools listed in the Taildragger CFI--UP/Northern WI thread and they don't have anyone with Shortwing experience.

My options are; receive training locally and fly the plane back, travel to Wisconsin with my CFI who has hundreds of hours in Shortwings and fly the plane back together, or get if ferried back to the East Coast and get my training in at home.

If anyone has any CFI contacts or Shortwing ferry contacts for Wisconsin please shoot them along.

Thanks,
Greg

Hi,

A good friend of mine has a hangar at Osh and knows pretty much everyone on the field. She hosts all year twice weekly get togethers, Sunday morning coffee and Friday night Crappy Movies. I sent her the link to your post and she, Tracy, just responded with a possibility.

Thanks.... I will reach out today. I was just browsing the FAA registry and there's 14 PA16's listed for Wisconsin. That's one of the highest number per State outside of CA and NY. Someone must be able to give a little transition training!

Hi again,

This morning I got an email concerning your plight. His being a CFI you two may be able to ferry the plane back to your home field even if he doesn't satisfactorily qualify as a shortwing instructor by your insurance company.
